The lesson of the ignorant schoolmaster

The article presents the main argument of Rancière’s book ”The Ignorant Schoolmaster”. The book is not interpreted as a treatise on education: on the contrary, stress is layed on the fact that the pedagogical experience of Joseph Jacotot described by Rancière in his book could never be institutionalized. Instead, Jacotot presents a beaufiful experience of emancipation, that Rancière explains in function of his thinking of the political.
